Home and garden retailer B&Q is giving Londoners access to on-demand delivery of over 600 DIY products from their nearest Local store, thanks to a partnership with Deliveroo.
Products spanning interior and outdoor paint, decorating, painting tools, plumbing, electricals, bathroom essentials, as well as tools and hardware, can be delivered in 25 minutes. This new partnership will launch across nine B&Q Local stores at Camden, Harrow, Palmers Green, Streatham, Sutton, Tooting, Wandsworth, Wood Green and Staines-Upon-Thames later this month.
The Deliveroo and B&Q partnership taps into the increasing demand from consumers for speed and convenience when it comes to buying DIY products. Customer searches on the Deliveroo app for DIY products such as paint and screws have increased by 74% and 35% respectively over the last six months.
Deliveroo said by offering an on-demand, fast delivery service it supports B&Q’s ambition to give customers more choice of when and how their B&Q purchases are delivered, and helps to reach a new target customer base and serve new shopping missions.
Amelie Gallichan-Todd, supply and logistics director B&Q, added: “We’re constantly looking at how we can help make home improvement projects easier. This includes helping customers to get their home improvement products in the most efficient, and convenient way possible, by meeting increasing consumer demand for speed, convenience, and mobile access.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Deliveroo to test on-demand delivery for our customers served by nine of our B&Q Local high street stores in London.”
Since the launch of ‘Deliveroo Shopping’ in November 2023, Deliveroo has been ramping up selection, enabling consumers to shop from retailers that sell everything from DIY to homeware, toys, flowers, baby items and gifts. The Deliveroo and B&Q partnership follows previous partnerships with Screwfix, Ann Summers and Boots, as well as The Perfume Shop due to launch in the coming months and the expansion of non-food selection with major grocery partners and local independent retail stores available on app.

“Customers are looking for choice, not only in the products on offer, but also choice of when and how their purchases are delivered,” notes Gallichan-Todd.
