Getir is to shut some stores following its acquisition of rival last-mile delivery service Gorillas.
In a statement, the company said it is “optimising” its combined store network with Gorillas, which inevitably leads to some store closures it “becomes much more efficient”.
Last year Getir acquired rival Gorillas in a £1 billion deal and currently operates in nine countries and the Gorillas acquisition involved five markets: Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, the US, and France.

According to the company, it is implementing different strategies to try to become a “stronger company”, which provides an “even better and more attractive service to its growing customer base.”
The statement added: “Last year’s acquisition of Gorillas by Getir has further cemented the company’s position as the European leader in the quick commerce industry.
“However, it has also meant that Getir had to make strategic decisions to ensure the successful integration of Gorillas and to boost the company’s overall strategic advantage.”
However, the company revealed it is still trading in London, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Southampton, Portsmouth, and Brighton.
